Hello everyone, my name is Sam and I play for a living. I got a guitar for Christmas when I was 8 and have been in a band since then.
When I was done with School we could travel, so we went to Chicago, Nashville, Memphis and Amsterdam when I was 17. Then we made a pilgrimage to meet Ronnie Hawkins after we sent a tape to him.
Before long he started us on his infamous 90 day boot camp of rock and roll, (who needs college when you go to a school like that?) Soon after this we joined his band, "The Hawks." Whenever we weren't booked with Ronnie we were playing and writing our own stuff. Our friend Alec Fraser heard some of our 4-tracks and offered to record us at Liquid Studio's in Toronto. The result was the 24 track album 149 Lake Street.
Along the way we have been lucky enough to play with some of our heroes through Ronnie and otherwise such as Levon Helm, Garth Hudson, Kris Kristofferson, and Jeff Healey to name a few.
I would like to thank everyone who has helped us out along the way. Have to go now but talk with you soon."
Your Friend,
Sam Weber
